Alison has been Town Break's Chair since 2015 and is responsible for driving the charity forward and ensuring we are governed appropriately. She is National Development Manager at Generations Working Together. Alison has over 20 years of management/project development and volunteering experience and has worked in both the public and private sectors as well as the third sector.
Emma has been a Trustee since April 2015 and brings a wealth of knowledge from human resource practices to office management and is very experienced in the charity sector and with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). She is a member of our finance and HR sub groups. She is Operations Manager with Sign Language Interactions a role she has held since October 2013.
Mieke van der Zijpp has recently joined the board of trustees. She has wide experience working in the voluntary sector, mostly in the field of mental health and social care. In the past she has worked with carers and people living with dementia and is keen to contribute to the governance of the charity.
Alan is a new trustee at Town Break. Alan has worked in social care for over a decade. This has been primarily within charities who deliver youth mentoring projects. Alan has a specific personal interest in Town Break due to his grandmother who has lived with dementia for over five years.
Kath has been a Trustee since September 2015. She has worked in the voluntary sector in a range of service delivery roles for over 15 years. Much of Kath's background is in working with disability charities and she has personal experience of dementia through family and friends.
Kath has experience in communicating with audience of all levels, from beneficiaries to ministers and has acted as a Trustee for two charities as well as sitting on a range of other committies.
Her working life involves her managing a busy GP practice.
Dave has been a Trustee since June 2016. He brings knowledge and experience of Charity Finance and Governance. He has worked in finance in the NHS for the past 21 years. He has worked with several Charities assisting on many aspects of their finances.
